Shehrazad

A laid-back sports bar

Time Out Says

Continuing the theme of great names in the Radisson Blu, Shehrazad is named after the storyteller in 1001 Arabian Nights who regales the king with a different story each night. The bar itself has plenty of stories to tell but with an added comfort of familiarity.

Big screens fill the side wall spaces of this sports bar but seating is cleverly arranged for anyone who isn’t interested in the big match that evening. Memorabilia of signed shirts by very famous footballers (Paul Scholes and Paul Gascoigne) are framed on display and are among a few other nice touches that give the bar a unique feel.

Refreshingly, the bar space is non-smoking and an outdoor terrace is available for those so inclined. Cosy cabanas line the back of the terrace, offering some privacy and peace from the lively buzz inside.

The bar menu is well-balanced with all the classics and a selection of mixed beverages. Happy hour discounts of 20 percent are plentiful throughout the week. Service is quick and efficient and staff are laid-back and friendly.

A simple but hearty selection of food is also available (burgers, chicken tenders and tortillas). It’s a great option to watch a big football match and soak up the atmosphere among like-minded (or opposing) fans.

Shehrazad is one of the few bars in Doha that’s chilled out and unpretentious.
