Try the brilliant new El Cedro Tasting Room in Doha

Amid the flurry of new bar and restaurant openings in Doha, we were really looking forward to El Cedro Tasting Room in particular. If you’re wondering why, it’s because El Cedro is the first-of-its-kind tasting room in the city and we’re always excited about new things to do in Doha.

This brand-new venue is located at Sharq Village & Spa and you can soak in a relaxed, yet indulgent ambience and experience handcrafted bites, with expertly mixed beverages.

As soon as you step in, the venue exudes an exclusive speakeasy feel. But that’s not all you see and experience – there are American elements and touches of Arabesque designs – it’s really upscale and luxurious.

From cosy couches and marble table tops to private rooms and a stunning bar area, El Cedro is possibly one of the most superior additions to Doha’s nightlife scene in recent times.

The sensory experience here from the aroma of cedar from the smoky beverages to wood-fired finger foods is one worth trying, especially for those who appreciate the finer things in life.

El Cedro Tasting Room is renowned for its talented craftsmen, like world-renowned sommelier and general manager Felipe Rojas Bruna, who effortlessly redefine your evening at this elegant lounge that displays an impressive selection of fine, premium beverages.

The food menu is surely one of the most impressive in the city. The dishes all have mild Middle Eastern and Mediterranean touches which keeps everything interesting. The sous-vide shrimp cocktail is brilliant and unlike anything we’ve tasted in Doha, and the cured salmon pastrami has some striking flavours.

The lamb rolls are wonderfully spiced and come with a tahini yoghurt dip. But the undisputed winner of the entire menu is the smoked, braised short rib. It’s so good you’ll want to give it a standing ovation and is so tender the knife slides right through. The pomegranate salsa gives it a wonderful tang along with some much-needed sweetness.

There’s a small selection of desserts, too.

You’ll need to go through an entire meal here to understand just how well curated this experience is. The tastes, smells, sights and sounds are all extraordinary enough to impress even the most sophisticated palates.

If you’re looking to elevate your evening with a unique sensory experience, there’s no better place to do it than at Doha chicest, classiest new destination El Cedro.
