Darb Al-Saai has officially kicked off its National Day celebrations with several entities – government and non-government – participating and hosting activities at their respective tents. The Ministry of Municipality and Environment, Ministry of Defense, Traffic Department, Police College, the General Directorate of Civil Defense, Qatar Development Bank and Qatar Foundation are all present.
The Police College will launch the biggest portrait of the Emir and in an attempt to set a Guinness World Record, over 14,000 people will colour the portrait. Qatar Foundation and its partner universities and centres will also host several activities at the QF tent. The QF tent is perfect for children with activities that include an immersive QF Tram experience, interactive storytelling sessions and an exciting horse-riding simulator. You also get to assemble a massive jigsaw puzzle, offered by Georgetown University in Qatar.
In case you’re worried about the parking situation, you might want to know that this year, the organising committee has allocated vast parking areas for visitors. Just grab the whole gang and head over to Qatar’s biggest National Day celebrations.
Runs till December 20. Sat-Thu 8am-12pm, 4pm-10pm, Fri 2pm onwards. December 13 (ladies only). Darb Al Saai, near Sports Roundabout.
