Doha Comedy Festival
The first Doha Comedy Festival kicks off this month as part of Shop Qatar. It features a line-up of 15 stand-up comedians from nine countries. America’s Got Talent winner Paul Zerdin is on the bill alongside up-and-coming regional talent like Qatari Hamad Al Amari. The biggest star, however, is comedy superstar and host of The Daily Show Trevor Noah, who will be performing on the final night of the festival.

The Laughter Factory

From hilarious anecdotes about working in Harrods to witty self-deprecating gags, this month’s bill includes Canadian Peter White, British-Nigerian Funmbi Omotayo and Aussie Damian Clark.

Lagoon’s picnic brunch goes carnival-themed for one Friday only to celebrate the famous Rio Carnival with vibrant Brazilian entertiainment.

Chinese new year Set menu at Hakkasan

To celebrate the Year of the Rooster, Hakkasan will be serving a unique set menu featuring limited edition mixed beverages and unusual, but traditional, New Year dishes such as a roast chicken, jellyfish and mooli salad which is tossed together at the table.

Sweet hearts

Bridgewater Chocolate has opened its first store in Doha at Mall of Qatar. Find tins, boxes, bars and more of hand-made, hand-drizzled, and hand-packed chocolates in flavours such as caramel, toffee, fruits, marshmallow, peanut butter, marzipan and coconut. The American brand is known for using fresh, quality ingredients and these Amarena cherry hearts are ideal for Valentine’s Day.

Doha Jewellery

Doha Jewellery and Watch exhibition is back. Browse and buy from more than 500 brands from Pandora to Cartier to Van Cleef & Arpels, as well as some up-and-coming Qatari designers, or sign up for the various workshops and masterclasses.

German film week

To celebrate the 2017 Qatar Germany Year of Culture, Doha Film Institute, Qatar Museums and the Goethe-Institut Gulf Region are putting on a German Film Week. Eight classic and contemporary German films will be screening, including greats like Run Lola Run and Sophie Scholl. Film critic Claus Löser will also be presenting the films as well as running a free masterclass on German Film History.

One of the most famous musicals in history, Cats, is coming to Doha. Composed by Andrew Lloyd Webber, it tells the riotous tale of the Jellicle cats and has received no fewer than seven Tony awards. Expect huge costumes, elaborate dance numbers, catchy tunes and an unforgettable show.

Taste of Australia

Celebrity master chef Tarek Ibrahim is in town and will be putting together a limited edition à la carte menu of premium Australian meats. Ibrahim is the Corporate Executive Chef for Meat and Livestock Australia so this is one meaty feast you don’t want to miss.

Seven-course omakase menu at Nozomi

Perfect for a special occassion, the set menu is served to a maximum of four people and includes dishes like smoked lobster bisque and miso-marinated foie gras with raspberry jelly and toasted apricot brioche. Each course is also paired with a grape or Japanese beverage.

Rio Carnival

Celebrate the annual Rio Carnival with an authentic Brazilian meal at Ipanema. Expect 15 different kinds of sizzling meats and excellent entertainment from the lively house band, Sambaqa.
