Skydiving in Qatar

See Qatar as you never have before: From 13,000 feet with Skydive Qatar

Skydiving in Qatar

A crophobes, you should probably skip this page, because your worst fear has just arrived in Qatar. For one month, and unfortunately one month only, Skydive Qatar will be holding a skydiving event during which you can sign up for a jump over the desert around Al Khor, with views over the coast.

Throughout May, keen adrenaline junkies can sign up for both tandem and solo (certified) dives.

Jumpers will have to pass a small medical test on the day, before being cleared to take part in the event. Nothing serious, just to make sure there’s no risk of you fainting, or something, mid-jump.

Once airborne, you’ll be plummeting towards the ground, in total free-fall, for somewhere around 55 seconds at approximately 225kmph. The (hefty) price of the skydive includes photos and videos for you to take home so you’ll be jumping with your own dedicated cameraman who will capture the whole experience.
Certified jumper? Mondays are blocked out for solo skydives, and you can sign up to take part with your own rig or rent one for a small additional fee. You don’t have to miss out on your souvenir video and photos, though. Solo jumpers can opt to have a cameraman jump with them, too. However, there will be another additional charge.

So, if you’re crazy enough to fancy throwing yourself out of an aircraft at 13,000 feet, this is your chance.
QR1,899 (tandem jump including a souvenir video and photos); QR150 (certified solo jump); QR190 (with rig rental); QR240 (surcharge, cameraman hire). Slots available May 3-31, 9am and 1.30pm. Over 18 only. Al Khor Airport, Al Khor coastal road, (7741 4181).
