Discover a dozen different, delicious ways to eat the crustacean Discuss this article

Based on the simplicity of this restaurant’s name, we walk into this eatery apprehensively.

But it takes about three minutes for our first impressions to change. The restaurant is luxurious, staff are beyond delightful and although straightforward – it’s purely about lobsters, from appetisers to main courses – the menu is full of creative-sounding renditions of the eponymous crustacean. Lobster is really no-nonsense about this, and it’s a refreshing detour from what we usually encounter in the city.

We start off with a mango and papaya lobster salad that’s packed full of refreshing flavours. We also enjoy a lobster roll, which features buttery bread with the creamiest, meatiest filling. But we save the best for last with a main course of lobster thermidor.

The Canadian lobster is covered in a creamy sauce, topped with Parmesan and then cooked until perfectly golden. It’s rich and delicious.

We take a walk over to the tank and find that the restaurant also has blue lobsters, which is a pleasant surprise, as these are rarely seen in Doha. Our bellies are full now, but we know what we’re ordering on our next visit.

Lobster may be simple, but the one dish it does, it does very well indeed.

The bottom line
Book in for the truly incredible lobster.
