Fun Indian-themed interiors with food that needs improvement Discuss this article

This has to be the most authentic-looking Indian restaurant we’ve seen in Doha. You really feel like you’re sitting in an old eatery in a crowded metropolis. The décor and interesting Indian motifs will keep you occupied for at least 15 minutes because the detailing here is incredible.

After you are done staring at the rickshaws, you will spend a while wondering what to order because the entire menu looks delicious. The tikka chaat is not what we expect – it’s not chaat to begin with. However, it is super tasty. Well-marinated chicken tikka pieces are tossed along with lettuce in a medium-spicy, citrusy sauce with cashew nuts thrown around.

The pani puri is a massive disappointment – it costs QR36 which is ridiculously expensive, and barely has the flavours that a typical pani puri is famous for.

The server recommends the Punjabi butter chicken for the main course and it’s the best dish – rich and creamy with a perfect balance of sweet and tangy flavours. The mutton biryani, is a big let-down. It’s too bland, the meat is not marinated well and for QR82, it’s not worth the money at all.

This restaurant has huge potential, but needs to improve its food before it’ll be a hit.

The bottom line
A funky Indian spot that needs some work on the food front.
