The sun is shining bright, we’re sitting in shade, relaxed against vibrant cushions and not bothered by 45oC of heat at all. The trees are right above us, and the view is spectacular. It might sound like we are sitting in a really gorgeous park, and we almost are. Almost. We’re actually on the 21st floor of The Torch Hotel, in their Tea Garden, a stunning spot that does full justice to its name and really brings the outdoors, indoors.

Aspire Park is right in front of us, and the thought of sipping on fragrant teas while gazing at the lake through glass windows that span the length of the circular restaurant is delightful.

We are slightly disappointed their teas are not served in the fancy, transparent, infusion tea pots any more. But one sip of their three bud beauty and you will completely forget from where, or how, this light, floral tea got into your cup. We particularly love the tie guan yin because the description tells us it has slimming effects, just the thing we needed to read before consuming lots of calories.

The food pales in comparison with the high-quality tea selection. The cheese fondue isn’t as cheesy as we’d like. The sharing bites platter, however, is a better, tasty deal.

Come here after dark to see the pool below light up, and all of Doha too. Pretty romantic, we say.

The bottom line
Excellent teas with even better views.
