Poolside restaurant with tasty twists on classic Greek dishes Discuss this article

As a previous winner at the Time Out Doha Eating Out Awards, and coming in highly commended earlier this year, we’re excited to check out the restaurant’s renovation. It’s named after a Greek island, so we’d be disappointed if Mykonos lacked any Aegean vibe. Happily, this poolside eatery has retained its charmingly traditional feel, with modernised, but still quaint, blue and white décor.
Try not to fill up on the tasty fresh olives, bread and smooth, yet tangy, feta dip that you’re presented with on being seated, as the portions are generous.Calamari comes piled high with lemon wedges on a slate board, while large chunks of Greek cheese are fried and served gooey and hot alongside a spicy tomato dip (though this could do with more of a kick).
If you’re a seafood fan, the large, tender tiger prawns served with fragrant spearmint rice (don’t be put off, it’s delicate, not toothpaste-y) is a must-try.
Despite being set next to the hotel pool, it’s not your typical beachy café. This is a pleasant spot to relax over a leisurely meal and there’s a mix of diners, some coming straight from the pool, others having dressed up. But really, anything goes at this relaxed restaurant.
The Bottom Line
Generous, well-flavoured dishes in a venue with a laidback, holiday vibe.
