The terrace at Al Bandar overlooking the stalls of Souk Waqif makes for an excellent spot to dine. However, in spite of the restaurant’s reputation for good fish, when Time Out Doha visited, the mixed seafood platter proved to be rather disappointing, mainly due to the sickly sauce that covered the shrimps, fried squid and hammour, making them soggy and miserable, much like the service. But with its central location and excellent starters, Al Bandar isn’t a write-off. But if you choose to order seafood, remember to explain to the waiter you want the sickly sauce on the side.
