We’ve all been to Zengo by now (we seriously hope you have) and know what to expect – flawless food, super service and amazing ambience. What we didn’t expect, though, is this new lounge on the 62nd floor. Climb through the spiral staircase surrounded by what looks like a massive birdcage (there’s an elevator if you’re lazy) to find an elegant space looking out at Doha.

Happy hours are from 6pm-9pm and once you are done, end the night with our dish of the month, the US prime tenderloin.

We are talking 220 grams of fall-off-the-bone tenderness, covered by a sauce that exceeds the highest expectations of a sincere foodie on a good day. The delicious foie gras, yakitori and truffle sauce, served with a creamy parsnip coconut purée, asparagus and baby carrots, really make this dish deservedly sought after.

Zengo does some fantastic pan-Asian fare and no matter what you try, you will most likely come back to get a second taste. They have splendid panoramic views of Doha combined with avian-themed interiors (mostly origami birds everywhere).

But let us not deviate from the steak goodness. We are not joking. Every time we look at this melt-in-the-mouth cut of meat, we hear Elvis’ song emanating out of the succulent layers of one of Zengo’s most amazing culinary creations. Try it.
