An adorable and friendly middle-aged woman brings out piping hot, freshly fried churros to your table, with thick hot chocolate for dipping and a delectable café con leche. This might be a distant Spanish summer dream but we have good news. Olive Oil has added another theme night and every Tuesday is La Noche Espanola, which can only mean one thing – lots and lots of excellent Spanish food served buffet-style and, yes, those churros make an appearance too. Happy days, indeed.

Speciality outlet chef Adriana Toledo, hailing directly from Spain, is serving up authentic and customary table favourites. This buffet features the best of Spanish cuisine and you will get to try everything from the most traditional paella Valenciana and croquetas to tortilla de patatas and gazpachos. If all of this is Greek and Latin to you (it’s actually Spanish), we definitely suggest trying the Spanish night at Olive Oil.

The highlight of this colourful buffet, and our dish of the month, is the special Spanish sweet – churros. While these impossibly moreish morsels are popular in Ibero-America, Portugal, France and even some Asian countries, it finds its roots in Spain. The churros served at Olive Oil follow an authentic Spanish recipe and after being deep-fried in oil, they are dusted with sugar and cinnamon powder. A beautiful jar of deliciously rich hot chocolate is served on the side, along with a few mixed berries.

If you ask us, all of the above along with the gypsy tunes that will be playing all night sounds like a winning combination. Nos gusta!
