Beijing House
This is a tiny little place with décor that is best described as minimal. But the unassuming signage and interior belie the top-quality Chinese food coming from the kitchen. It might be a drive if you are in Doha, but well worth it.
Barwa Village (4486 4272).

Ginger Club
Don’t mind the drive all the way to Wathnan Mall, the food is more than what you’d expect and you’ll be surprised at how great the value is. Oh and feel free to customise your order, the chef is friendly and ever-ready for feedback.
Muaither (4411 5567).

North East
A low-key family-owned restaurant in a dark lane with no proper signage and more popularly known as Playstation Cafeteria. The chef (who will also be your waiter) does a good job with recommendations and as long as you don’t over order and keep your expectations low, you’re sure to have a good, budget, Chinese meal.
Al Salata (7786 6176).

Oriental Kitchen
Their ambience is basic but their butter prawns aren’t. A popular option for budget friendly and simple, but tasty, dining.
Najma (3336 3279).

Three Peppers
They make some of Doha’s best dumplings, and if you are looking for authentic, no-fuss Chinese food, this should be near the top of your list.
Old Airport Area (6649 2626).
