Verdict: Offering Bombay street food, you get exactly that: authentic, snack-type food that may not be fancy, but is tasty.

Caravan Bukhara Restaurant
Ease of ordering: Sometimes frustrating, usually easy
Delivery time: 1/5 (Located in the Khalifa International Tennis Complex it’s a bit remote)
Times: Weekdays 12pm-3pm, 6.30pm-midnight, Thurs-Fri noon-3.30pm, 6pm-midnight
Verdict: Fantastic spicy curries that smack of authenticity, it’s worth the wait.

Ease of ordering: Decent
Delivery time: 2/5
Times: 11.30am-3pm, 5.30pm-midnight, Thurs and Fri till 1am
Verdict: A massive selection of Indian, Chinese, Japanese and Filipino dishes means there’s a little something for everyone, but we love it for fantastic Indian food that’s still piping hot even one hour later. It’s reliably good, each and every time we order.

Caravan Bukhara Restaurant
Ease of ordering: Tricky. They only have one driver so expect a wait.
Delivery time: 1/5
Times: Daily noon-3.15pm, 6pm-11pm. Minimum order QR100
Verdict: Tasty, sure, but the wait meant it would have been the greatest thing we’d ever had in our mouths to make it worth it.
Get it: Majlis Al Taawon St (4440 9614/ 4483 3345)

The Garden Annapoorna
Ease of ordering: Fairly simple
Delivery time: 2/5
Times: South Indian: 7am-11am, noon-3pm, 7pm-11.30pm North Indian: 11.30am-3pm, 6.30pm-11pm
Verdict: With two restaurants in one (a South Indian on the ground floor, a North Indian upstairs) you can have your pick of tasty favorites from all over the country! The South Indian option in particular is renowned for outstanding dishes- don’t be fooled by the cheap price point.

Maharaja
Ease of ordering: We got cut off. Twice.
Delivery time: 2/5
Times: Sat-Wed 7am-3pm, 4pm-11pm, Thurs-Fri 7am-3pm, 4pm-midnight
Verdict: Is it fancy? No. Is it authentic and good value for money? Yes. Plus, every time we’ve actually gone into the restaurant, it’s packed with Indian expats, which we take as a good sign.

Royal Tandoor
Ease of ordering: Surprisingly easy
Delivery time: 3/5
Times: noon-3pm, 7pm-11pm
Verdict: One of the most authentic Northern Indian restaurants in the city, this is it if you want real curry and dishes prepared in traditional clay ovens. It’s a weekly tradition for many. But be warned, it’s popularity means delivery times increase on weekends!

Spices
Ease of ordering: Easy, and they know the city well
Delivery time: 2/5
Times: 7am-10am, noon-3pm, 7pm-11pm
Verdict: It’s all in the name: this place is the stop for something a spicy. If you value your tongue, ask for medium spicy.

Tandoor Express
Ease of ordering: A little tricky without the menu in front of you
Delivery time: 2/5
Times: 11am-11pm
Verdict: Decent Indian kebabs, curries and chicken dishes, as well as extensive vegetarian options. They also offer meal-for-one packages that are handy when dining solo!

Tanjore
Ease of ordering: Challenging if you’re doing it sans menu
Delivery time: 2/5
Times: noon-midnight
Verdict: Solid portion sizes and decent, middle of the road dishes makes this a pleasant choice. Dishes aren’t so spicy they scare off tentative diners, but neither are they so bland they don’t remind you you’re eating Indian.

Welcome Dine Restaurant
Ease of ordering: Occasionally challenging, depending on who answers the phone
Delivery time: 2/5
Times: 11am-11pm
Verdict: A mix of Chinese and Indian that sometimes goes together, sometimes not, but always makes your plate interesting. Plus their name is just so friendly!
Get it: Ras Abu Aboud (4437 2030/ 4437 2040)

Hi,
I use to order Fabio's Pizza. There are indeed good but not fantastic. I think there are too many everuthing on the pizza dough!
The BIG problem is the delivery time!!! I leave close to the area and it takes more than an hour...I ordered few times but now I stopped because of that...They let my kids waiting for 2 hours one evening!!!!!
