Best Romantic
La Mer - Winner

This is where we used to imagine our Barbies going on date night with Ken. It’s a classic old school take on romance, all red velvet curtains, sweeping views and fine tableware. It’s got that old-fashioned seriousness about it, that tells you the waiters wouldn’t be shocked if someone proposed at the next table. Food wise, it’s classic European with beautiful presentation.
The Ritz-Carlton Doha (4484 8000)

Three Sixty - Highly commended

Location is everything, and 360 has it in spades. With floor to ceiling windows, what makes this special is the fact the view changes: its Doha’s only revolving restaurant. On your other side, there’s a piano player tinkling away who’ll you’ll pass in your journey around the restaurant, while you nosh on solid European food. It’s friendly and there’s a little something for everyone on the menu.
The Torch (4446 5600)

Al Dana
With high end French inspired seafood, this place is romance gone on vacation. Opt for a table on the terrace and get gorgeous views of the sunset and sea breezes wafting as you dine. There’s something magical about fresh seafood this close to the sea. If seafood’s not your thing, don’t fear: there are also classic dishes inspired by the south of France on offer.
Sharq Village & Spa (4425 6666)

Bice Ristorante
Sweeping views from one of the first restaurants on the Pearl combine with dim candle light and fantastic food to make this a sure bet if seduction is on your mind. The atmosphere is relaxed yet intimate; the food is classic Italian without being overworked. It’s perfect for sharing bites from each other’s forks and please, someone order the spaghetti and eat it like Lady and the Tramp.
The Pearl-Qatar (4495 3876 ext 1441)

Pool Grill
Romance does not have to be all uncomfortable shoes and tables with a confusing number of forks. If romance for you comes from a grill, this is the spot to head. The food is unfussy and uncomplicated including barbecue and seafood dishes. What puts it over the top, romance wise, is the views, and the staff’s willingness to move your table onto the sand if you ask nicely. One part easy, unintimidating food, one part sunset and one part sand under your toes while you dine is a recipe for romance if we’ve ever seen one.

Why you are saying infamous singer for Asha's. Is there anything you know that others don't ;-).
And is Garvey's your budget pick open to all?

I'm surprised Khazana (by Sanjeev Kapoor) didn't make the list. I suppose their location isn't one you would just stumble upon, but I think it's quite unfair that they didn't make the list. They specialize in North/East Indian cuisine with a very large selection of kebabs as well as biryanis, breads and curries. I love going there both with my family and as well as with guests. Being from North India myself, I feel it is authentic and definitely worth the not-so-large amounts of money you'll be spending... in fact, it is, in my opinion, better than Asha's.

The garden in the winter months is spectacular and the indoor arrangement is quite peculiar but one can count on privacy if sitting indoors.

It's an international chain and several of their restaurants have won awards.

It's located at Souq Waqif (http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?msid=214078544554653579723.00048b1f38d060b899e52&msa=0)

I just really hope you hadn't known about this restaurant when you made this list because it's a real shame. They deserve recognition.

Your choices in Middle Eastern food are ... questionable. Perhaps you need someone with a more refined Middle Eastern palette :)
