Doha Festival City has planned several special in-mall family events, happening throughout the Holy Month, including Garangao, live cooking stations, craft workshops and traditional games. An interactive photo booth with traditional dresses for shoppers to come and snap pictures at is also available in case you’re really feeling the spirit from Thursday June 7 to Thursday June 14.

Here’s the lowdown on all the activities taking place.

The Joy of Craft Making

Children will have the chance to try their hand at arts and crafts and for an entire weekend, they will get to paint their very own money box.
Free (registration required by 8.30pm). Only for children between 4 and 12 years of age. May 24-26, 9pm-midnight. Ground floor, Centre Court.

Garangao Celebration
The biggest traditional celebration for children during Ramadan, Garangao, will take place on Friday May 25 around the mall. Children will be given their own mall maps that will give them clues to find and collect candy and nuts hidden all over Doha Festival City. As parents (or family friends), you may eat this candy once collected.
Free (registration at 8.30pm at Customer Service desk). Only for children between 4 and 12 years of age. May 25, 9pm-11pm. The Garangao route will be around the mall.

Live Cooking Stations
For an entire weekend, adults can enjoy live cooking stations at Doha Festival City. Learn all about making delicious iftar meals and participate in crafting some dishes, too.
Free (registration at 8.30pm). May 29-31, 9pm-11pm. South Food Court.

Story Telling
Kids can listen to beautiful tales shared by a traditional story teller at Doha Festival City. Families can sit together under the magical Centre Court atrium to enjoy and learn more about the Holy Month.
Free (registration at 8.30pm). Only for children between 4 and 12 years of age. June 1-2, 9pm-11pm. Ground floor, Centre Court.

Henna Painting
For the last couple of days of Ramadan, and in celebration of Eid-Al-Fitr, there will be professional henna artists designing Henna art on guests. Visitors will also have the chance to have their photo taken with a falcon at Doha Festival City.
Free (registration at 8.30pm). Anyone over 3 years old. June 7-9, 9pm-11pm. Ramadan majlis around the mall.

Traditional Games
Enjoy traditional games such as the giant snakes and ladder game and many more that will be located in different areas around the mall. These games will take place throughout the mall, from opening to closing time on every day of the Holy Month.
