Groove to the right temperature with Sean Paul, strap on your lederhosen (people will really be wearing that) for Oktoberfest or dig out your Halloween costume. Whatever you do, just prepare for an awesome month. We bring to you Doha’s swankiest, best and most fun nights out this October.

BAREFOOT THURSDAY

Barefoot Thursday is finally back, meaning we can chill on the beach in this perfect weather without having to embark on an hour-long drive outside of the city. This energetic, fun night out complete with live entertainment, creative beverages, a stylish setting and an excellent barbecue should be on your list this month. The menu will showcase fresh seafood and steaks, alongside a chic beach bar setting and, of course, the beautiful backdrop overlooking the sea. Feast, sip and sink your toes in the sand as the grill fires up at this beachfront barbecue. The beach bar is accessible to everyone for free and on a first-come-first-serve basis.
QR250 (soft drinks), QR360 (selected beverages). Free entry to the beach bar. Thu 7pm-11pm (dinner), 7pm-12.30am (beach bar), 7pm-9pm (happy hour). Four Seasons Hotel beach, West Bay (4494 8600).

CORK AND CANVAS
Unleash your inner Picasso (or five-year-old self) on October 2 at Radisson Blu’s painting with a twist night. You get pictures to copy from, painting supplies, your own canvas and, of course, beverages and food. You even get to take your (probable) masterpiece home. Just don’t hang it up if you see shocked expressions from your fellow painters on your way out.
QR220 per person inclusive of special selected beverages, finger food and paint supplies. Oct 2 7pm-10pm. Radisson Blu Hotel Doha, Ramada Signal (4428 1555).

DJ NADIA SOVA LIVE
The super-talented DJ Nadia Sova performs live at Qube on October 5. We understand the questionable crowds, but definitely go for her music. We might just see you there.
Free for ladies. QR130 (VIP, 7pm-onwards, inclusive on one beverage) and QR100 (regular, 9pm-onwards, inclusive of one beverage) for men. Membership required. Qube, Radisson Blu Hotel Doha, Ramada Signal (4428 1555).

DOHACHELLA
So, what if you missed Coachella? Here’s Doha’s very own version and you don’t want to miss it. Get your festival outfits out, pack on the glitter and party on The Ritz-Carlton Doha’s lush lawns. Once you’re done at The Lagoon, you can continue the festivities at Habanos. No judgement for glitter beards.
QR100 per person inclusive of one sip and one bite. Oct 26 sunset-onwards. Lagoon Garden, The Ritz-Carlton Doha, West Bay Lagoon (4484 8000).

GET FUNKED
Get Funked is a pretty popular and sought after band from the UK and we’re rejoicing because they’re headlining at The Club all this month. Your Tuesdays and Thursdays should be booked for getting funked.
Free entrance. Tue, Thurs, 10pm onwards. Ongoing. The Club, The St. Regis Doha, West Bay (3387 0925).

JAZZ A LITTLE BIT

Saturdays should be for relaxing only. And, we can’t think of a better way to chill than listening to brilliant jazz tunes at Smoke and Mirrors. The music is live, the beverages are interesting (and cost QR40) and that’s Saturdays are sorted.
Free entrance. Sat 6pm-1am. Ongoing. Smoke and Mirrors, Mondrian Doha, West Bay Lagoon (4045 5999).

LATIN MOOVZ
Salsa nights cannot get better than Irish Harp’s Wednesday nights hosted by Salsa N Candela. You can dance all night and if you’re lucky, you might even catch a few amateur-but-ambitious solo dances on the floor.
Free for ladies. QR50 for men including one beverage. Wed 9pm-onwards. Ongoing. The Irish Harp, Sheraton Grand Doha, West Bay (4485 3000).

MONSTER BURGER
Does your ideal night out involve gorging on a monstrous burger? If you just answered yes, not only could you be categorised as a glutton but you could also head over to Irish Harp and attempt the Monster Burger 2.0. It has been upgraded to a pyramid-shaped burger and if there’s one thing we’re sure of, it’s that you’ve never attempted anything like this before.
QR299 including fries. Daily 5pm-1am. Ongoing. Irish Harp, Sheraton Grand Doha, West Bay (4485 4444).

NEMR ABOU NASSAR LIVE IN DOHA
Have you already checked out our awesome interview on page 48? We’re looking forward to spending a few rib-tickling hours with Nassar’s dad jokes and basically a bunch of other hilarious stuff that we can all relate to.
QR150 (starting). Nov 1, 8pm onwards. Great Room, W Doha, West Bay (4453 5135).

OKTOBERFEST
Experience this authentic Bavarian festival at InterContinental Doha’s Wiesn tent. The guest band Night Rider will keep you entertained and through the night there will be fun acts and games. Go all out at the Bavarian-style buffet and Munich’s famous brews. Just don’t forget your lederhosen.
QR265 (entrance fee and buffet dinner). Oct 4, 5, 11, 12, 8.30pm-1am. InterContinental Doha, West Bay Lagoon (4484 4444).

PHUKET BEACH WAVES PARTY
Why go to Thailand when you can party like a tourist right here in Doha? The waves may be artificial (there's a wave pool) and the DJ may be local, but you can have almost as much fun. The return of the Phuket Beach Waves Party promises to be bigger and bolder this time. So just chill out and enjoy the sound of the waves with a delicious Thai barbecue feast featuring an array of Thai specialties.
QR195 (soft drinks), QR265 (selected beverages), QR315 (enhanced package), QR150 (drinks only). Thu 6.30pm-11pm. Ongoing. Westin Doha Hotel & Spa, Fereej Bin Mahmoud (3359 8514).

PUB QUIZ
Do you have what it takes to win an intellectual battle with your team? Then you and five (smart) friends should team up and take on this pub quiz at popular sports bar Shehrazad. Even if you lose, you’ll have enough anecdotes to laugh at with your friends for the next few weekends. The best part is you can win prizes worth QR1,000, QR500 and QR250 in meal vouchers which you can then use at any of the restaurants in Radisson Blu. We’ll be around, too, pressing the buzzer really quickly.
Free entry. Oct 29 9pm-onwards. Shehrazad, Radisson Blu Hotel Doha, Ramada Signal (4428 1555).

HAPPY HALLOWEEN

Halloween isn’t that big around here but that doesn’t mean you can’t celebrate at all. Have a spooky night out at Rise in Mondrian. Spooky hour is from 8pm to 10pm with QR25 on beverages. There’s trick or treat hour from midnight to 1am where you get two-for-one on a selected menu. Just don’t forget to don your best costume for the night. It’s the one night a year when it’s perfectly acceptable to look like a bed zombie.
Free entrance. Oct 31 6pm-1am. Rise, Mondrian Doha, West Bay Lagoon (4045 5999).

ROCKAWAY BEACH FESTIVAL
Brace yourselves for Qatar’s biggest music festival featuring ten of the best live bands in the country performing at Oyster Bay & Bar. We can tell it’s going to be a long, epic night. Rock on... or away...
QR100 inclusive of one beverage. Oct 5 1pm-midnight. Oyster Bay & Bar, The St. Regis Doha, West Bay (3387 0925).

SPANISH NATIONAL DAY
Leave it up to the Spaniards to turn a historically significant event into one big awesome party. Fiesta Nacional de España is one of the two national days in Spain and is held every year on October 12 to commemorate the day Christopher Columbus discovered the Americas in 1492. Celebrate this Fiesta at El Faro with a live band and a Flamenco show. If you’re Spanish, show
your passport and you’ll get two beverages on the house.
QR440 (for two people for a special menu), QR120 (top up per person for special beverages). Oct 9-12 7pm-11pm. El Faro, Marsa Malaz Kempinski, The Pearl-Qatar (4035 5555).

THE BACKYARD
The Backyard is back and you can continue grooving to fun rhythms from the live bands that perform at this backyard-themed venue. All through October, top British musicians the Flyaways Band from will be playing some excellent tunes.
QR65 for ladies including one beverage, QR100 for men including one beverage. Fri 6pm-10pm. Ongoing. Sheraton Grand Doha, West Bay (4485 4444).

THE WHITE PARTY

You’ve already seen how white The Pier is with its contemporary French chic interiors but The White Party is the signature event here every Wednesday and while you don’t necessarily have to break out your whitest whites (after hours of scrubbing), you absolutely must go here to sip amazing beverages and savour tasty bites while admiring Doha’s magnificent sunset and West Bay views. The stunning Nobu is right across the way, too. We won’t judge if you groove to catchy tunes from the in-house DJ in your sparkly white bell-bottoms.
Free entrance. Wed 5.30pm onwards. Ongoing. The Pier, Four Seasons Hotel Doha, West Bay (4494 8600).

It’s finally that time of the year when we can go outdoors and we highly recommend Nobu’s happy hour on the rooftop. Ladies get a special price through the night and you have the best West Bay views from right here.
Sun-Fri 6pm-8pm. Four Seasons Hotel Doha, West Bay (4494 8600).

Trader Vic’s

The new Tiki Happy Hour menu is a must-try with selected signature beverages starting from QR30 and a new menu that includes some very unique maki rolls. Plus, this month, the new Tahitian Village extension is finally opening and we predict it’s going to be the hottest new spot in town.

LIVE IN DOHA

Sean Paul brings back so many memories and most of those good times may include embarrassing ourselves by badly dancing to his chart-topping tunes, but who cares? Sean Paul is coming to town! He’s bringing his Mad Love Tour here and we are mad in love. You most likely will be too, shortly before seeing us in the very first row screaming our lungs out.
QR275 (Silver), QR599 (Gold), QR999 (Fan Pit). Oct 30, 9pm (doors open at 7pm). Qatar National Convention Centre (4470 7000). Visit Virgin Megastores or tickets.virginmegastore.me/qa.

The menu will focus on sharing-style dishes and small plates and you’ll get to try some unique sushi choices like Menehune tempura roll and Luau prawns. Another exclusive feature is the meat selection of beef prime ribs and Chateaubriand prepared in a traditional Chinese Oven. We won’t reveal too much, we’ll just let you check it
