Head south of the border this month with the Latin American Cultural Festival at Katara. From Oct 6-15, check out music and dance performances, special screenings of movies from Latin American countries, a carnival show and more. Performers come from all over Latin America, including South America, Central America, the Carribbean and Cuba. Particularly exciting is the special performance by the Caribbean Gems during the festival, bringing carnival straight to Qatar. The opening ceremony on Oct 6 includes a music show featuring Pancho Amat Y El Cabildo Del from Cuba, starting at 7pm at the Drama Theatre, followed by a performance by Johnny Ventura from the Dominican Republic at 9pm. The final day, Oct 15, sees Peruvian movie Una Sombra Al Frente screening at 5pm, and the Costa Rican A Ojos Cerrados at 8pm at the Drama Theatre.
