Just in time for their tour, TT release eight new songs. Sadly these are only available on the extended edition of Progress. Ker-ching! Haven’t these guys heard of an EP (or VFM)? Kicking off with the nostalgic mid-tempo ‘When We Were Young’, this is the sort of mature man-pop we’ve come to expect. The string-addled earnestness is certainly preferable to ‘Beautiful’ (hello, Vengaboys). The Numan-esque synth-stomper ‘Love Love’ will come across well in the live arena, which is still where Take That truly excel.
