More DTFF films announced

Eight more titles added to programme Discuss this article

The latest issue of Time Out details a large portion of the fims you should definitely be watching at this year’s Doha Tribeca Film Festival, being held from October 26-30. Today, however, eight more titles have been announced – see Andrew Lau’s Legend of the Fist: The Return of Chen Zhen, Stone featuring Robert De Niro and Edward Norton, Machete with Danny Trejo, Casino Jack with Kevin Spacey, or a special IMAX screening of Paranormal Activity 2. Two previously unannounced Indian films, Rakht Charitra and Udaan, have been added, and Champs Elysees Je t’aime has been added to the Arab Short Film Competition. Purchase tickets from the box office in the cinemas at City Centre or Villaggio.

Other news involves the changes and additions to the festival judging panel – Egyptian actress Yosra has been appointed president of the jury, after Arab filmmaker Hany Abu-Assad is unfortunately no longer able to make it. She will be joined by actress, producer and director Salma Hayek Pinault, English actor, writer and director Nick Moran, Indian director Bhavna Talwar, and Bosnian screenwriter and director Danis Tanovic.
