Bring your old books and magazines and get something new to you at the Doha Mum’s monthly book swap. Mum’s and kids are welcome to stay for a chat, but you don’t have to have children to attend—all are welcome, as long as you come packing the literature.

Go retro
Head back in time every Wednesday until Ramadan, as the Irish Harp takes it back to the 60’s and 70’s with the best of retro tunes. Dress to impress (this may involve bellbottoms). Starts Wednesdays from 5pm onwards, entrance is free.

Have a laugh
Grab a giggle as The Laughter Factory returns! Bringing three comics straight from The Comedy Store in London, Shehrazad presents two hours of standup guffaws. Heckling not required, but deeply encouraged. Shows start at 8pm, QR120 per person, including one drink from the sponsors.

Do some yoga
Just because it’s summer time doesn’t mean you have to take a break from your deep breathing and ooomming. Yama Yoga keeps their classes going all summer long, with a full slate of all types of practices, as well as dance classes (we’re intrigued by their tango lessons), right through till September.
