Whether you’re fasting or not, Ramadan is a great time to experience Qatari culture and get together with friends and families. Check out special Ramadan promotions, from specially constructed tents in ballrooms to decorated restaurants, all paired with delicious food spreads. Many include entertainment as well—last year there was everything from whirling dervishes to henna artists.

Look in a book
Join the Doha Mums (whether you’re a mum or not) to talk about books books and more books this month. This month’s choices are The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins and One Day by David Nicholls. Come along and help choose August’s selection.

Learn some first aid
This one day Pediatric Emergency First Aid course is designed specifically for people caring for kids—from teachers and nannies to parents themselves. Participants will earn their Pediatric Emergency First Aid accreditation by Highfield Awarding Body, recognized by Health Safety Environment UK and valid for three years. Let the chef feed you
Until Ramadan, head to the winner of this year’s Best Restaurant award, and let the chef just go to town. The Tasting Menu includes five courses with 10 different flavours, every night from 6pm-11.30pm. QR500 gets you the tasting menu for two people, plus a bottle of vino.
