Sheraton Doha Resort & Convention Hotel
Well established Doha luxury hotel is shaped like an Aztec pyramid 1 Reviews
The oldest of Doha’s five-star hotels, the Sheraton – which is designed bizarrely enough like an Aztec pyramid – still cuts a memorable shape in the city skyline. Situated at one end of the Corniche, its impressive atrium echoes the unusual exterior of the structure and the cavernous lobby reaches right up to the roof. That’s a remarkable sight from ground level, but less good news for vertigo sufferers edging along the narrow corridor from the lift to their rooms; you’ll know them by their white-knuckled grip on the metal railing.
Safely ensconced in your comfortable room, however, you’ll find that the decor is tastefully turned out in dark wood and fresh cream linen, with quirky art prints, subtle lighting, a large TV display and minibar, plus everything else you’d expect from a top-end hotel. Rates include breakfast, which is delivered to the room in silver salvers no less. The Sheraton also boasts some excellent restaurants and a lively bar. Corporate visitors will appreciate the hotel’s vast conference facilities, while the health spa, set beside two swimming pools and tennis, squash and badminton courts, will appeal rather more to the rest of us.
Time Out Doha,
