Be the first to comment 1 November 2012Japanese Cinema
As part of the ongoing Japan-Qatar celebrations, this trio of films present gorgeous movies from and about Japan. The Tsunami and The Cherry Blossom is a visual poem, focused on the healing power of the cherry blossom for survivors of the recent tsunami in Japan as they rebuilt their lives when the cherry blossoms bloom. Traces is a intensely personal documentary about an aging foster mother and her foster child, artist and filmmaker Naomi Kawase, focused on the vulnerability of human existence as someone you love nears death. The trio wraps up with Li.Li.Ta.Al, a short animated film depicting a meaningless poem created by nature.
