See Inside: Recycling & Rubbish
By Alex Frith, illustrated by Peter Allen
Ages: 6+ BD6.5
This extremely busy book is ideal for eager little fingers who want to know ‘why’ at every opportunity, which is, let’s face it, probably most kids once they hit three years old. Very educational, it has no real story as such, but it’s packed with a skip-load of fascinating facts. Did you know, for example, that most people throw away their whole body-weight in rubbish in just seven weeks? Or that methane gas emitted from stinky landfill sites can be used as fuel? Including more than 60 lift-up flaps and a fold-out page that shows the amazing machines that separate rubbish in recycling centres, this will appeal to little eco-warriors who want to know the ins and outs of all things recycling. Not one to pick off the shelf at bedtime, its informative, educational slant makes it ideal for classes and curious minds.
