Point Break (1991): This is an adrenaline-fuelled thrill-fest with more classic moments than Keanu could aim a surfer-dude ‘whoa’ at. Patrick Swayze wins a pacey chase through suburban back gardens, Keanu jumps out of a plane without a parachute, and Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Anthony Kiedis has his foot shot to pieces. Even more astounding, this awesome actioner is directed by a woman – The Hurt Locker-steering Kathryn Bigelow, no less – who has zero trouble turning the tempo to overdrive.
