Who wants to see The Fast and the Furious but with trucks instead of cars? Probably loads of people, actually. For those of you who do, there’s this movie, which looks like a whole load of silly fun.

To the premise, then. A bunch of thieves are planning to pull off a huge heist at the US Mint and, as they’re about to strike, a huge hurricane hits. The plans don’t go exactly as they hoped and the bad guys end up needing a code to get into the vault. The only person with that code is Maggie Grace’s treasurer, Casey.

As the thieves chase Casey she picks up an ally in the form of Toby Kebbel’s meteorologist, Will. He’s also got a vested interest in catching the baddies, as somehow they’ve kidnapped his brother along the way. Of course they have. How Kebbel ended up in this is anyone’s guess. It’s a long way from the excellent Dead Man’s Shoes, that’s for sure.

The trailer definitely makes it look like a lot of fun, and there are echoes of director Rob Cohen’s previous movies The Fast and The Furious and xXx. There’s more than a hint of Sharknado, too.

Did anyone need this movie? Absolutely not. But we’re guessing plenty of people will be glad it’s arrived. For 1,000kph thrills, look out for Hurricane Heist.

The bottom line
Thoroughly enjoyable nonsense.
