Family animation about a young African boy who befriends a giraffe Discuss this article

A sweet animated film that will appeal to adults as well as kids, Zarafa is the story of Maki a young African boy who escapes from slave traders, who befriends a giraffe. The pair embark on a journey across the desert and on to Paris. Zarafa is based on the real-life tale of the giraffe presented to France’s King Charles X from Muhammad Ali (the Ottoman viceroy of Egypt) in 1826.
