Wacky tale about the search for a lost little brother Discuss this article

This Nickelodeon production may be designed for short attention spans, but must the characters have them as well? After her little brother goes missing on Halloween, Wren and her best friend do what anyone would do: flag down two car-possessing nerds and crisscross Cleveland in pursuit. Detours involve a fake gunfight at a fast-food joint; crosscuts to Wren’s brother and a convenience-store clerk pulling pranks on Cleveland’s biggest bully (Johnny Knoxville); and the imperilment of an asthmatic cat. Adventures in babysitting needn’t be less wacky, but John Hughes’s sense of craft might have helped Fun Size earn its titular adjective.
