Like Phone Booth. But in an ATM Discuss this article
A financial-industry drone (Geraghty), the co-worker he’s sweet on (Eve) and his obnoxious best friend (Peck) decide to make a quick pit stop on their way home after an office Christmas party. In a plot twist that would make Phone Booth screenwriter Larry Cohen envious, the three find themselves trapped inside a bank’s ATM booth by a mysterious killer. The novelty of the film’s geographical gimmick wears out its welcome far too quickly, as director David Brooks never properly exploits or expands on the single-location premise for B-picture thrills and chills. As both a horror film and an attempt to detail a dark night of the yuppie soul, this pitiful potboiler gives new meaning to the term ‘insufficient funds.’
