Adele, Rise of The Mummy

Quirky French film about a feisty pre-WW1 heroine Discuss this article

Based on the popular Franco-Belgian graphic novels, and called The Extraordinary Adventures of Adèle Blanc-Sec elsewhere, this French-made film follows the escapades of feisty heroine Adèle, who finds time to save pre-WWI Paris from pterodactyls, corrupt officials and a rather well-spoken mummy (of the ancient Egyptian variety) in between writing novels. There’s a danger that the English-language dubbing over the original French will prove a rather annoying distraction. Yet those unfamiliar with the novels may find this quirky film to be a refreshing alternative to the plethora of Hollywood blockbusters currently showing in Dubai’s cinemas.
