A roving assassin, Jack (George Clooney) has long lived in necessary and by-now-familiar solitude. After a job in Sweden reaches an unexpected conclusion, Jack slinks off to the Italian countryside, where he begins to build a weapon for mysterious contact Mathilde (Thekla Reuten). But this is Hollywood, and nothing says box-office sales like an ill-advised romance – which Jack wastes no time in delivering.
