When Sean Kelleher (Michael Madsen) accidentally kills his friend in a sparring match, he vows to never box again – until his wife dies and his kid needs expensive surgery. He enters a bare-knuckle tournament, but must face champ Smasher O’Driscoll (Vinnie Jones). The secret to a good boxing movie lies with inspiring training montages, and Strength and Honour doesn’t have enough of them. It does, however, cast a spotlight on the woeful state of the Irish healthcare system – these are sad times when a man must fight in a warehouse to get medical attention for his family.
