Hachiko: A Dog’s Story

The true story of a Japanese (true-life) legend with Richard Gere Discuss this article

The true story of a Japanese (true-life) legend, this tells the tale of a faithful dog so loyal that, for an entire decade after his master died, he would still turn up at the train station to meet his master – here an unlikely college professor played by Richard Gere – on his way home from work. How the filmmakers have stretched that story out into a full film we’re not sure (we didn’t see an advance screening), but if it’s an inoffensive Saturday afternoon with the family you’re after, we suspect this does the job.
