How to enjoy dtff
DTFF executive director Amanda Palmer shares her top tips
‘You have open your mind and say to yourself: “I am not going to a place where I am going to have an expected experience.” I think a lot of people choose the films because they expect to laugh, to see a particular celebrity, to see a certain thing. One of the challenges with international cinema is people aren’t used to going into a film where they might not know the director, the star, or even what’s going to happen in the film! When you’re choosing your films, go for genres that you know you like, but don’t choose three comedies or two thrillers. Mix it up. There’s only so much that you can take each day, so you have to put yourself on a rollercoaster ride!’
