The Four Seasons
The Four Seasons goes for Christmas in a big way, with all of their restaurants participating in their brunch. They offer the full array of Christmas dainties with turkey and the requisite trimmings, mince pies and more. Food is served outside and guests can meander between the terraces and the special beach tent. For kids, there is a special, appropriately bland buffet so you don’t have to worry about them going hungry. In all probability, they will be too engrossed with the magic show and bouncy castle to make as much use of the pizza and pasta variations on offer! They also have access to the Kid’s Tower (normally reserved for guests) which boasts games, nannies, movies and games consoles.
Prices start from QR525 for adults and QR265 for kids. Dec 25, 12pm-5pm. The Four Seasons, The Corniche, (4494 8888).

The Marriott
Another extra-Christmassy brunch is provided by the Marriott. Not content with enrolling all their restaurants to stoke the long buffet in their lobby, they up the festivity levels with a choir singing carols. When you add to that the Mexican band singing festive serenades, it’s definitely a spectacle worth seeing. They provide food for every palette, along with the usual turkey-based options, athough depending upon where you sit, the surroundings can feel a little like an airport. Children can have their faces painted as festive objects (snowmen; baubles; indigestion, etc.) and will be able to enjoy the usual Marriott ‘Kids Corner’ with TVs, bouncy castles and so on.
From QR350 for adults and QR175 for kids. Dec 25, 12pm-4pm. The Marriott, Ras Abu Abboud, (4429 8888).

Grand Hyatt
Christmas lunchtime will find Time Out Doha Kids, along with many others, at the Grand Hyatt. As well as excellent food and snappy service, there is an array of activities to keep the kids out of your hair while you over-indulge. Food is served in The Grey Restaurant at the bottom of the stairs and though this is not the most intimate of locations, the large tree adds to the festive air. Little people can have their faces painted and entertain themselves on bouncy castles, managing to power themselves on candyfloss and pic ‘n’ mix sweeties. For very little ones, the full-sized-real-life Father Christmas is actually credible enough to be a highlight! Prices start from QR295 for adults and Q5150 for kids.
Dec 25, 12.30pm-3pm. Grand Hyatt, West Bay Lagoon, (4448 1234).

Ritz Carlton
The Ritz also host a very creditable Christmas brunch which tends to book out early. Children dine for QR175. For adults, there is a non-alcoholic option for QR350 and a ‘Sparkling’ one (including fizzy grape) for QR450. The ‘Full Brunch’ option is QR495 and, for the additional QR45, you get access to the full range of house beverages (and an extra helping of regret for the day after.) For the children, there is the usual Ritz ‘Kids Corner’ but with some Christmas songs playing in the background! This is a well chaperoned and well organised affair with face painting, appropriately bland foodstuffs and oversized play equipment. As with the Grand Hyatt, we are to yet to find anyone who has regretted spending Christmas at The Ritz brunch! Prices start from QR450 for adults and QR175 for kids.
Dec 25, 12.30pm-4pm. Ritz Carlton, West Bay Lagoon, (4484 8000).

St Regis
And for those of you who want to be sociable on Christmas day but don’t miss fake snow, irritating records and other seasonal frivolities, there is always the option of the St Regis. They host a brunch serving appropriate Christmas foodstuffs in their Vine restaurant. Prices start from QR595 for adults and QR175 for kids.
Dec 25, 12.30pm-4pm. St. Regis, West Bay Lagoon, (4446 0000).
