Cute, Paris Hilton-esque spa is strictly for all girl pampering in Doha Discuss this article
If you run screaming when confronted with anything frilly or girly and despise the colour pink, then Dados will be your worst nightmare. Stepping inside this new spa is like walking into Barbie’s bedroom. It even smells like bubblegum. The Paris Hilton-esque cutesy decor (think pink fur and boudoir-style chaise lounges) begins at the ‘No dudes allowed’ sign on the front door, and extends to a private best friends room where two giggling gal pals can indulge in treatments alongside one another. Then there’s a long list of other facilities, including a soundproof treatment room (to stop the sound of screaming during a waxing treatment, perhaps?), a marble hammam room with an individual steam room, wet area with sauna, Jacuzzi, and a nifty plunge shower where you tug on a wooden bucket that tips over and saturates you with icy cold water. But there’s more: a nail bar, a hair salon and, should you feel like shopping, the spa also serves somewhat as a boutique, selling fashion pieces, swimwear and jewellery.
In other words, Dados has covered any girly girl’s whim under the sun. Aside from the feminine fantasy surrounds, Dados offers most beauty treatments (though not threading), specialising in nails, get-skinny treatments, pampering for mums-to-be and endearingly named kiddie treatments like ‘the cup cake manicure’. The hammam is another spa speciality, using famous Moroccan products La Sultane de Saba (our therapist used their oil infused with scrummy-smelling cinnamon and jasmine). Staff are from around the world – our therapist was a no-nonsense Australian who told us she did a deep-tissue massage and if it was too deep to ‘speak up’, as she wasn’t going to annoy me during my treatment by constantly asking how it was (we like her style). The massage really was deep tissue – to the point that Time Out Doha squirmed in pain at times, so stubborn were our stress knots; but no pain, no gain, as the adage goes, and so we kept quiet – and we left happy – smelling like a fusion of flowers, spices and confectionery. All in all, a frivolous and fun spa experience.
