We pay a visit to Doha's rough and tumble sports bar Reviews

In the vast and exciting Doha nightlife scene, what was missing for so long was someplace that served pitchers and had pitches (see what we did there?) on the screen. Champions fills the void, being a down-home, rough and tumble (or at least as rough and tumble as Doha gets) sports bar. Filled with lads, blue jeans, lads, frothy mugs, and more lads all hooting at their 40 LCD screens, it’s a relaxed spot to catch the latest game of whatever sport you fancy: they rotate between most everything going. They have private rooms on offer should you want a more intimate setting to root for the home team, and a small and so far neglected dance floor that still has the potential to be a really fun, if laid back, time.

More importantly, they have unprepossessing beverages at prices to match. If you enjoy a domestic hops (nothing fancy or micro about it) this is the spot. If you want to use said pitcher to wash down a meal, we highly recommend their burger: it’s meaty, manly and just a tiny bit sloppy. This is not the place for a dainty nibble or a drink with a little umbrella: we’re frankly surprised you can’t throw peanut shells on the floor. So it might not be for everyone—you don’t necessarily want to stroll in here dressed to the nines. But, if what you want is a relaxed sip, a slightly-delightfully-greasy meal, and some sports on the tube, you can’t go wrong.

The ambiance reminds me of a more upscale sports bar/pub. Nice interior, with lots of seating and big screen TVs, including a projector at the back showing different games and matches, mostly football. The drinks are decently priced, you can get a beer for about 35 riyals, and around the same for liquor. I was impressed that they did not charge for mixers, which I've seen a lot of other bars in Doha do. Overall, a nice place to hang out with some friends and have a couple of drinks!

It is open now, it looked nice and I heard that it is great but never tried it myself. If I do, I will post a review.

How can you review a place that has not even been Built / Finished. Little difficult, I think ::--((
