This two-floor venue is one of Doha’s superior nightlife venues. The long, curved bar boasts an extensive list of tipples for the discerning drinker to choose from. Your best bet is to plump for one of the signature pearl cocktails (Black Pearl, White Pearl, Pearl Island, Pearl-tini…you get the gist), or stick to the classics; the bartender claims to make ‘the best mojito in town’, and it’s no empty boast. Elegant platters of nibbles like nuts and olives magically materialise with drinks, but if you’re in need of something more sustaining, there’s a reasonable food menu plus a separate sushi bar. Regular weekly events such as ladies night (Monday), salsa (Tuesday) and sushi and champagne (Sat) draw in the smartly dressed crowd, but for the most part, the vibe – while upmarket – isn’t pretentious.
