You can almost imagine admirals Nelson, Nimitz and Kirk sitting in this Ritz-Carlton club, supping on port and discussing the finer points of tactics. What they’d have made of the stringent door policy remains a mystery, though Time Out reckons that Kirk’s hot-headedness may well have led to him being escorted out. Doing so would have led him to miss the wonderful view of the Gulf (which we reckon is one of the best in Doha) however, and the refreshing breeze if he’d sat outside. The Admiral’s Club is a relaxing place to spend an evening, and the fact that it’s so busy most of the time speaks volumes about the place.
