Mathaf Voices

Get an insider’s perspective on the latest exhibits at Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art by taking a tour with their student tour guides. Offered every Friday and Saturday from 4pm onwards, tours encompass all of Mathaf’s exhibits, both at the museum proper (meeting in the Mathaf Atrium) and Al Riwaq (meeting in the foyer), for free.

Maisha Scriptwriting lab

Apply online by Aug 15 for the Maisha scriptwriting lab. Participants over 18 must submit a seven-10 page script, which accepted participants will then hone from September 15-22. Participants will work on their script, learning their craft and honing their skills under the tutelage of experts in the field.

Water Workshop

The Museum of Islamic Art offers workshops focused on water every Monday and Wednesday from 9am-noon this month. By reflecting on the numerous items in the museum’s collection that include verses, references or motifs related to water, participants will be inspired to create a 3D piece of art decorated by verses from the Holy Qur’an in which the word ‘water’ is mentioned in many ways. Held in the Education Centre at the Museum of Islamic Art, booking is required.
