Al Wajbah Fort is the oldest and arguably the most attractive fort in the whole state. It's an extremely important fort in Qatar's history, since it was the site of a famous battle, when in the year 1893 Sheikh Jassim bin Mohammed Al Thani led the people of Qatar to an unlikely victoy over the invading Ottoman foces.
