It’s that time of the year again when we get to see incredibly beautiful boats and yachts (that we obviously can’t afford) from all over the world, right here in Doha. The fifth edition of the Qatar International Boat Show (QIBS) will take place across four days from Wednesday March 14 to Saturday 17. The event will play host to boats from 15 countries, while also giving a chance to the region’s boat enthusiasts to come up close and personal to all the latest technological advancements in this field.

This year, the highly anticipated show expects to attract over 90 impressive motorboats, luxury yachts and unique dhows. These will be displayed both on land and in the water and be complemented by exhibitor chalets representing many top names in the maritime industry, both locally and internationally, along Marina Walkway at The Pearl-Qatar.

International manufacturers, exhibitors and companies that specialise in the maritime industry will participate in this year’s edition of the Qatar International Boat Show, in addition to the local companies working in this domain. The boat show plays a significant role in supporting the tourism and exhibitions industries in Qatar and also encourages private sector investment. Previous exhibitions held over the past few years have witnessed deals worth millions of riyals.

The turnout is expected to be huge this year, so don’t be surprised if you end up in a long queue to see a particular luxurious yacht that it might take years of savings to buy. The good news, though, is that visiting hours are increased this year. Several side activities and events, such as marine tours, prizes, water activities, marine races and relevant seminars, will also take place as well this year.
Free. Open daily 2.30pm-9.30pm. March 14-17. Marina Walkway, The Pearl-Qatar,
