Silentò at Crystal Lounge
Famous rapper and YouTube phenomenon Silentò is bringing some pop culture to the Crystal Lounge this month with a performance that is sure to include his viral hit Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae). The Atlanta-based songwriter shot to fame after uploading the catchy song accompanied by his signature dance moves to the online video channel, and has since gone on to perform across the world, as well as releasing new singles.

The Laughter Factory

This month, Angelo Tsarouchas, otherwise known as The Funny Greek, comes back to the Middle East. Rounding off the comedy triple bill are Mark Maier and rising star Matt Rees.

Shanghai Club on Wednesdays

Ladies, head on over the Shanghai Club on Wednesdays for free-flowing bubbles at the venue’s new ladies night.

Sixties themed night

Dig out your grooviest outfits and get ready for the Grand Hyatt’s ’60s Night. With tribute band Just Beatles (the real thing are pictured, left) taking you back in time for the evening, there’ll be prizes for the best dressed and the dancer with the grooviest moves.

CHI Al Shaqab equestrian event

Al Shaqab will play host to some of the greatest riders in the world at the CHI Al Shaqab equestrian event. Riders will be put through their paces with show jumping and dressage competitions, and if you need a break from watching horses jump there will also be a festival area with food courts, games, falcon handling and henna painting.

Secrets of the Simpsons

Simpsons writer Mike Reiss is presenting a series of cartoon clips and behind the scenes stories so you can see for yourself what goes into the making of this long-running sitcom.

Anima Art

Spend an afternoon strolling around Anima Gallery this month and get your culture fix with its new exhibition, Paratopia. Lebanese artist Charbel Samuel Aoun found inspiration in the conflict between cities and nature, and uses materials like cement and pine needles to create his urban landscapes. Dystopian.

Four Seasons Friday Brunch

Start the weekend off in a leisurely fashion with a relaxed brunch at the Four Seasons. The extended live stations in Elements, Arabica and Il Teatro will keep your plate full, but if you’ve got a sweet tooth be sure to leave some room for the Chocolate Cellar, a room full of desserts.

Spanish week

Join specialist Chef Angel Zapata-Martin as he introduces a week-long menu of authentic Spanish food and wine. He’s also hosting cooking classes.
