Flavours of Valencia
Spanish restaurant El Faro is all about Valencia in April. The specially created five-course menu will be available all month and has been crafted to capture the spirit of the coastal city and its surrounding region. All dishes will be available à la carte, too.
QR250 per person for the set menu. Daily 7pm-midnight. El Faro, Marsa Malaz Kempinski, The Pearl - Qatar (4035 5555).

Indulge in a carvery
Prime’s new monthly themed night goes back to basics with a posh version of popular pub grub: the enduring carvery dinner. Enjoy unlimited meat with an amuse bouche, dessert and coffee. A step up from a Sunday roast at the local.
QR350. Prime, InterContinental Doha The City, West Bay (4015 8888).

Thai New Year
Wednesday April 13 marks the Thai New Year, Songkran. In Thailand, you'd probably be getting involved with a country-wide water fight. Sadly, that's not an option here in Doha, but you can still embrace the spirit of South East Asia by celebrating on the following Friday at Isaan, with a special Songkran brunch of authentic food from market-style stalls.
QR290 (with soft drinks), QR399 (with selected beverages), QR850 (with bubbles). Fri April 15, 12.30pm-3.30pm. Isaan, Grand Hyatt Doha, West Bay Lagoon (4448 1250).

The backyard
Chill out on the grass for an evening surrounded by fairy lights and live acoustic music. Get down for happy hour from 7pm-9pm.
Free for ladies before 8.30pm, QR65 after with one beverage; QR50 for gents. Fridays from 7pm. Sheraton Grand Hotel Resort & Convention Centre (4503 4444).
