See Shrek The Musical

Shrek and Donkey on are on another whirlwind adventure, along with Fiona and other favourite characters like Pinocchio, Farquaard and the Sugarplum Fairy. The all-singing, all-dancing adaptation’s lyrics were written by Pulitzer prize-winning and Tony Award-nominated writer David
Lindsay Abaire.

Screenings at this year’s Qumra include classics like Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and Russian Ark as well as new films from emerging producers and directors like Ely Dagher, who just won the Short Film Palm D’Or at Cannes for his animated short Waves ’98.

Turkish food festival

Experience traditional Turkish delights from a special à la carte menu, including one of Turkey’s famous national treats, and the highlight of the festival, gözleme – a traditional pastry stuffed with various ingredients like cheese, spinach or lamb.

Brunch 007

Your chance to dress to the nines and pretend you’re the undercover MI6 superspy at famed brunch venue The Grill, where they’re putting on a James Bond-themed brunch. Expect classic British cuisine, a variety of Bond-worthy mixed beverages (shaken, not stirred) and a soundtrack of some of the film series’ most famous tracks.

Backyard sessions
Backyard Sessions are on every Friday at The Sheraton. Chill out on the grass and recline on beanbags for a candle-lit, fairy-light-strewn acoustic session. The eclectic roster of performers includes beatboxers, singers, bands and more, and recent sets have been played by the likes of the Doha Band and the talented Hannah Trigwell. Entry fees include one house beverage.
