Eat fusion food
Sit 61 floors above West Bay, sip on signature drinks, and snack on delectable Latin-Asian bites at the newest opening from legendary chef Richard Sandoval, Z Lounge by Zengo. We aren’t sure what we’re more impressed by: the panoramic views, the excellent mixed drinks or the creative cuisine. Head there before the masses do – this is bound to be the city’s next biggest nightspot.
Kempinski Doha Residences & Suites, West Bay (4035 5555).

An evening at La Mer
Spend a refined evening at The Sommelier Table, embarking on a grape “journey” through Burgundy; featuring favourites from the cellar, paired with delectable little canapés and views over the city skyline.
QR750 per person. Friday January 15, from 7.30pm. La Mer, The Ritz-Carlton, Doha, West Bay Lagoon (4484 8000).

Latin spread
Indulge in a five-course meal of beef-centric Latin specialties from Chef Luciano. Dine at the exclusive Chef’s Table and enjoy a selection of creative, South American mixed beverages, too.
QAR500 per person. Sunday January 17, 7pm-11.30pm. Latino, Sheraton Doha Resort & Convention Hotel, Al Corniche Street (4485 3000).

Animal bling
To mark the Chinese Year of the Monkey, Carrera y Carrera have launched this dazzling Monkey ring. It doesn’t come cheap, but the powerful mythological figure will allegedly bring you self-confidence and strength (plus it’s encrusted with green tsavorites, orange sapphires, amethyst and diamonds).
QAR27,058. Carrera y Carrera, Al Fardan, The Pearl Qatar, via Marsa Arabia Way (4495 3875).
