Punch yourself fit with Qatar’s first BoxFit class
If you can’t face dragging yourself to the gym, beat away the festive flab instead at new combat fitness class BoxFit. The fast-paced, stress-relieving workout uses boxing techniques to improve strength, endurance and agility, particularly targeting the core, upper body, shoulders and hips.
QAR60 per class (non-members). Sun & Tue 8.15pm-9.15pm, Sat 6pm-7pm. Ozone Gym & Spa, La Cigale Hotel, 60 Suhaim Bin Hamad Street (4428 8101).

Celebrate Russian Christmas
If you can’t face the thought of the festive season being over for another year, panic not. The Grill will be hosting a traditional Russian Christmas brunch, complete with a live DJ playing the best of Russian Christmas tracks.
QAR295 (with soft drinks), QAR420 (with house beverages), QAR725 (for the premium package). Friday January 8, 12.30pm-3.30pm. The Grill, The Grand Hyatt Doha, West Bay Lagoon (7798 2400).

The Corridor
See Islamic prints and patterns from locally-based artists like Amber Rauf, Elena Nikolaev, Jonathan Tepper, Mona Salama, Tida Bitar and Pip Howe at The Corridor gallery in the Grand Hyatt Doha. The exhibition forms part of the hotel’s initiative to raise awareness for Room to Read, a charity organisation campaigning to improve literacy and gender equality in education, across the world.
Until January 16. The Corridor Gallery, lower lobby level, The Grand Hyatt Doha (4448 1234).

Go on a health kick
Any avid follower of health food bloggers and instagrammers will be familiar with spiralizers – contraptions that turns veggies into a pasta or noodle alternative. This one, from German kitchen brand Lurch, is now available in Qatar.
QAR199. Virgin Megastore (Villagio Mall, Landmark Mall & SPN The Pearl-Medina branches).

The color run
This is an event that hardly needs any introduction. It has taken the world by storm, and we’re not arguing with its self-proclaimed title as the “happiest 5k on the planet” - what could be happier than a leisurely jog, in costume, while hurling flourescent powdered paint at each other? Especially when it’s followed by a Finish Festival of music and dancing.
Sat Jan 9, 7.15am-noon. QAR160 per person (teams), QAR170 (solo runners), free for children under the age of four. Qatar National Convention Centre,
