May 14-22
The Oryx Rotana hotel is celebrating a week’s Spanish fiesta with a whole range of food-related activities. Guest chef Angel Zapata Martin will be preparing something special each day, including the X-Press lunch for QR95 and dinner for QR155. The tapas brunch, named aptly taprunch, will run on Saturday May 16 and will be specially prepared by the guest chef as well.

A taste of South Korea
May 18
InterContinental Doha The City welcomes three chefs from The Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas and InterContinental Seoul COEX to infuse Doha with the culture and culinary flavour of South Korea. There will be a selection of classic Korean favourites in the Hwang pan-Asian restaurant and in The Square.

May 20
The “Time Out Doha Restaurant Awards” is our biggest night of the year. With our team of anonymous reviewers, this is the only restaurant awards you can really trust. Our comprehensive reviewing system and our trawling of the city to find every gem means all of the nominations are there on merit. The winners and highly commended establishments will be unveiled in the June edition. Closed event.

Who can? Matthew vanKan
May 19 & 21
Two special performers from the successful Swing Week at the Grand Hyatt this March will return for one-night-only performances. Firstly, smooth criminal Matthew vanKan will be in top form on May 19 at Dunes. (Get ready for some Sinatra). Then, on May 21, Nicola Emmanuelle will be singing her sweet tones.

The Wailers
May 22
The iconic reggae band will be performing some top hits at the Sheraton, including One Love, No Woman No Cry, Is this Love and Get Up, Stand Up. The Wailers was originally the band with reggae star Bob Marley, and, although there have been member changes over the years, the love and passion for reggae has never waned.
