Swiss brunch
May 1
With the general manager of the Grand Hyatt hailing from Switzerland, every few months we notice a Swiss-inspired theme at the brunches. So enjoy the best fondues, traditional Swiss stereotypes (including a folk band) and much more at The Grill. Furthermore, Swiss selections run throughout the week for QR250 per person for dinner and the folk band stays.

Rainbow Park
May 1-6
There is a large playing area for children to enjoy and learn at the same time with coloured sand and numerous shapes of playground activities to mess around with in a family-friendly environment at two different locations on the Pearl.

Classics at The St. Regis
May 6
In the third edition of Classics at The St. Regis, classical pianist Sonja Park is joined by Egyptian cellist Hassan Moataz, a traditional Gulf music connoisseur, bringing sounds of the region to complement Sonja’s signature sound. Look out for Sonja’s article in next month’s issue.

Omid Djalili
May 7
UK-born Iranian comedian Omid Djalili will no doubt be bringing the house down (metaphorically speaking), for one night only at the QNCC. Known for his observational style and humorous strong Iranian accent / typical London voice, he is one of the UK’s most popular acts and is not to be missed.

Music at the Movies
May 7
Enjoy all the best of classical music from the movies at the atrium of the MIA. Tunes include Henry Mancini’s The Pink Panther, Alan Menken’s work from Aladdin, Bernstein’s West Side Story, Horner’s Titanic and John Barry’s James Bond hits as movie music is celebrated. It’s free entry and on from 6pm.
